Voice Coaching Client, Ashington
I found working with Flora a real inspiration! My aim for our sessions was to learn how use my voice safely and effectively within the classroom, but I felt I gained more than that. She built on my previous knowledge, and gave me lots (and lots!) of new strategies, techniques and songs to use within the classroom. Flora is a fountain of knowledge in all things singing, especially when engaging children, and filled me with more enthusiasm for something I already love.

Beaconhill Community Primary School, Cramlington
During her year with Class Three, Flora established excellent relationships with the children and adults. She actively engaged the children in their own learning and quickly established a positive classroom atmosphere. The class always looked forward to their sessions and enjoyed singing across the curriculum.

Singing lessons were always well planned and engaging. Progression was clear through the delivery of sessions and the children's acheivements by the end of the school year. The children learned a wide range of singing skills as well as being introduced to music notation. These approaches were something that helped staff develop a better understanding of teaching music to young children too.

The children could sometimes be quite challenging to motivate, but Flora was able to do this with enjoyable song choices that suited the personality of the class. She chose a wide range of songs and singing games to stimulate the children, and knew when to move the session on to keep the children engaged. Flora used visual aids, audio and actions in order for all children to access the singing sessions.

Flora helped to build the confidence of many children in class and encouraged them to lead songs and activities. Oral feedback for the children was always instant and positive, and the children really appreciated this.

Lessons were always well resourced and ready for the children entering the classroom. The staff in class have also benefitted from these sessions as Flora has shared different approaches and recommended resources for us to practise in school. She was a welcome addition to our classroom, and her hard work was appreciated by all.

She was very good at engaging everyone, whatever their level of music/singing ability and making each person feel part of the experience.

The children have gained a huge amount from this experience and have certainly had a quality music input from a real expert.  Flora has been able to motivate pupils with even the most challenging of behaviours and give them the confidence to partake and perform in rhythmic and choral work.

Flora is well organised, enthusiastic, creative and able to inspire children to enjoy singing.
